A programmable logic controller or PLC is a solid-state computer designed for manufacturing. PLCs monitor the information from input devices and then make decisions based on that state. The PLC monitors' input devices are attached to industrial machines used in manufacturing processes. The SCADA System also provides a host control function for the supervisor to control defined settings. SCADA has a wide variety of functions crucial to the day-to-day running of electrical power utilities.
